Alaina received her bachelors degree from Harvard University, where she was a member of the varsity cross country and track and field teams. She received her MS in Counseling Psychology from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Before opening Contemporary CBT, Alaina worked for a group private practice, where she honed her skills as a clinician.
