Ajaunta Turner is a Licensed Professional Counselor specializing in Mental Health Therapy at her private practice, Key Concepts Counseling and Consulting. Key Concepts serves people over the age of 8, seeking mental health and behavioral health services. Ajaunta’s work at Key Concepts has earned her a contract with the State of Michigan’s Department of Health and Human Services. Specializing in working with challenging and vulnerable populations, she is committed to empowering children and adults with the tools needed to overcome criminal backgrounds, generational barriers, and other obstacles that play a role in being a productive member of society. Ajaunta’s professional experience with the criminal justice system has driven her to ensure that people who may have been ‘written off’ by society are given the resources to take advantage of second chance opportunities. Her work focuses on evidence-based, trauma informed cognitive behavior concepts as well as a variety of holistic therapy methods. She believes in unlocking key therapeutic concepts to help her clients have a better approach to life. Ajaunta received an Associates of Applied Science in Corrections from Jackson College, a Bachelor of Arts in Criminal Justice from Siena Heights University and a Master of Arts in Mental Health Counseling from Spring Arbor University.
