Hi, I'm Adrianne! Sometimes, talk therapy just doesn't cut it. When you've sat on the couch for the umpteenth time, pouring out your life's story, hoping that if you just tell it once more, you'll work through some things...but truth is - our bodies are fascinating beings that tend to hold onto the hurt and trauma that have happened to us over the years. Those feelings and sensations get stored and stuck in the parts of the brain that can't be accessed by words alone. That's why telling our stories over and over again doesn't resolve the issue. If this sounds like you, maybe it's time to try something different. Neuroaesthetic studies show that art, music and kinesthetic movement help unlock the parts of the brain that store those hurtful memories. Art therapy can provide a safe space to process and make meaning of your story. "But I'm not an artist! I don't have a creative bone in my body!" That's okay - no art experience is necessary! My training in art therapy and counseling, as well as my warm and person-centered approach offer a safe space for you to be yourself while in the process of finding yourself. I believe that people thrive when they are aware of their values and strengths. My role is to be a fellow journeyer as you discover the wisdom from within and make meaning of your story.
