Introduction

Astanfordcounseling.com I work with clients who are dedicated to developing new skills that are proven to help them achieve happier, longer, more fulfilling relationships. I'm highly competent with and welcome clients of diverse backgrounds including but not limited to LGBTQ+ and non-monogamous. I am sex positive and kink aware. I am also skilled and experienced in working with clients with type 1 Autism (Asperger's), anxiety, depression, bipolar, and addiction. I am not a jack of all trades, I prefer to excel at a few things rather than be decent at a lot. I am Level 3 trained in The Gottman Method of couples counseling, the most researched and proven method available. I am also trained in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT). I take an active, skills based approach that goes well beyond simply talking things out and I focus only on the most effective methods available. I won't bore you with a page full of platitudes about living your best life. Let's get down to business and use science-based methods to collaborate on changing habits and thinking patterns to better influence emotions and behaviors. I only offer teletherapy (phone or video). I am not accepting insurance as it does not typically cover couples counseling.
