Introduction

Dr. Adam Hardy is a Licensed Professional Counselor - Mental Health and Licensed Addictions Counselor with the state of South Dakota. Adam and his wife/Office Administrator, Joni Hardy, co-founded Sunstone Counseling, LLC in 2022. Adam has been working as a mental health counselor since 2012. Currently, he also works full-time as an Assistant Professor in the counseling department with the University of South Dakota. Adam is passionate about continuing his work with clients on a part-time basis, using evidenced-based practices to help create meaningful change. Marissa Tuttle is a full-time Mental Health Counselor. She recently received her MA in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from The University of South Dakota. She previously provided counseling in Iowa, where she specialized in treatment of clients experiencing their first episodes of psychosis. She is currently working toward her LPC licensure for South Dakota, under the formal supervision of Dr. Adam Hardy. Marissa uses a client-centered, holistic approach, focusing on multicultural, evidence-based practices toward mindfulness, empowerment, self-advocacy, and overall wellness. She has experience helping people who struggle with anxiety, depression, trauma-related disorders, schizophrenia and related disorders, as well as other life experiences. Marissa’s goal is to create a safe, supportive environment to encourage clients to address their needs without judgement.
