I’m Abi, a pastor’s kid and special needs sibling who has dreamed of helping people since I was a young girl. After graduating from Texas A&M with a degree in psychology, I knew that God had called me to pursue a career in therapy. I am currently a master’s level student in Abilene Christian University’s Family and Marriage Therapy Program and am completing my internship under the supervision of Christy Birgen. I aim to become a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist and work to help people find hope and healing. My approach to therapy pulls from systemic and person-centered approaches to therapy, with a Christian background. I believe that each person was created in a unique and individual way by God, and our experiences through family, community, and relationships shape who we are. I view therapy as a safe and comfortable environment in which the client and therapist work towards peace and hope. I have a passion for families in ministry, special needs families, and relationships.
