Even seemingly minor events could trigger a person with borderline personality disorder (BPD) to exhibit symptoms. For example, if they are separated from a loved one, like while traveling on business trips, a person with BPD may become irritated and distraught.
The degree and frequency of symptoms, as well as how long they persist varies depending on the person and the extent of their disorder.
