If you exhibit any of the following symptoms, you may have body image issues:
relentlessly self-scrutinize your body in mirrors
picking at your skin
trying to conceal your perceived flaw; constantly asking others for reassurance that the flaw or defect is hidden
frequently touching the defect
often making comparisons of your own body to that of others
feeling jealous of a friend's or celebrity's body
counting calories and/or avoiding meals
Another sign that you may have body image issues is if the obsession with your body or a perceived flaw impacts your job or performance in school.
