Introduction

If you're a South Asian American struggling to fit in, I need you to listen up: Being a "Bad South Asian" does not make you less of a South Asian American. It makes you a more authentic one.And there are SO MANY people like us out there! If you've been told that you're "TOO South Asian" or that you're "not South Asian enough", or if you're the scapegoat, the runt, or the "Black sheep" of your family or community, you've come to the right place! I'm Tracy Vadakumchery, and I am licensed therapist in New York, Florida, and California who has been called all of these things throughout my life! I'm here to show you that it's okay to be "bad" sometimes, to make mistakes, and be an Imperfect Indian Woman. I can show you how to be one too! You deserve a Brown Girl therapist who GETS IT! Your culture is only a part of who you are; it is not WHO you are. I believe you can be yourself AND be part of your community at the same time. We'll work together to identify YOUR beliefs, values, and decisions that allow you to be in touch with yourself while also showing up for the people you care about. I believe that therapy is a slow burn. I start with an insight-oriented approach first to help you become more motivated and self-aware. I also use a combination of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) to challenge your self-defeating beliefs that keep you stuck, respond to your triggers differently, and self-soothe in a better way! There's no such thing as the Perfect Indian Girl or Guy that everybody likes. So let's be "bad" together and challenge cultural norms! If this deeply resonated with you, then I'm likely a good fit for you. Schedule your free intro call today to see if we can work together.
