Dr. Williams is a clinical psychologist licensed in Texas and New Mexico. She graduated from Spelman College (Atlanta, GA) with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology, Master of Science degree in Professional Counseling from Carlow University (Pittsburgh, PA), and earned her doctorate degree in Clinical Psychology from Jackson State University (Jackson, MS). Dr. Williams completed her APA-Accredited pre-doctoral internship at Florida State Hospital (Chattahoochee, FL). As a clinical psychologist, she often collaborates with primary care providers, and/or specialty providers to offer assessment, therapy, and consultation services. Dr. Williams has provided psychology services for 10 years in a variety of settings including psychiatric hospitals, outpatient mental health services, military settings, and community-based health clinics. Dr. Williams’ interests and expertise include general adolescent and adult mental health. The focus of her practice is the application of a holistic treatment approach, which seeks to focus on the person as a whole – mind, body, and spirit, and how psychosocial stressors affect physical health and well-being. To date, her research focuses on identifying and examining psychosocial factors that underlie psychological and physiological conditions affecting people of African descent and their communities. She is the Southwestern Diversity Advisory Committee Representative for Psi Chi, the International Honor Society in Psychology. When she is not engrossed in her work as a clinical psychologist, she enjoys spending time with family and friends, traveling, entertaining and leisure reading.
