Introduction

I work from a solution-focused therapy base. I add in Narrative Therapy, Feminist Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Skills Training, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, and Trauma-Informed Therapy. Cultural and other forms of diversity are honored and incorporated into the therapeutic experience. Services typically are not religiously-based. However, upon request of the client, I am competent to discuss therapy through the lens of several religions and through multiple different philosophical ideologies. The result is a custom-tailored therapy experience which starts with identifying where you are now, developing an idea of where you want to be, and then together creating a plan to guide us along your journey to your chosen destination. I am comfortable helping people who have complex needs, including the intersection of mental illness and chronic physical illness. I have experience working with individuals, families, and couples. I am comfortable working with people from different ethnic, gender, socioeconomic, and other backgrounds. I provide a safe, caring space for people to learn about themselves, to celebrate their individuality, and to build strength. It is a space where the trauma of biases, racism, discrimination, chronic health conditions, and other aspects of life can be processed and healing can take place. I strive to help people determine what they believe their best life is, plan how they can achieve that life, and build the resources, skills, and networks needed for that life. Upon the client's request, I will happily coordinate care and services and/or advocate for the client with other providers, organizations, or people.
