Introduction

Larry J. Colby is a Licensed Professional Counselor as well as a Licensed Secondary Education Teacher. Larry completed his Bachelor’s in Secondary Education with a dual major in Speech Communication and Psychology at Eastern Michigan University in 2003. He completed his Master’s in Mental Health Counseling at Walden University in 2013. Larry completed his counseling internship at a sexual abuse center and a private alternative school. Larry's mission is to use his interpersonal connections to allow others to build a base for discovering Health, Enlightenment, Love, and Prosperity to their lives. Over the past 15-years, Larry has provided direct care, counseling, and leadership within Psychiatric Residentials, Group Homes, Partial Hospitalizations, Intensive Outpatient, Intensive In-home, and Outpatient Counseling services. Prior to working in Mental Health, Larry was an English Teacher working with both advanced and at-risk populations. Larry has training in Clinical Trauma Therapy (CCTPI), TF-CBT, DBT, EMDR, Sandtray, Child-Centered Play, and Theraplay. He has been trained as a co-parenting trainer. Larry's preferred modality with children is play therapy, Sandtray, and bibliotherapy. Larry uses a combination of EMDR, DBT, CBT, Sand Tray, and Person-Centered Therapy with adolescents and adults.
