Introduction

“Life can feel overwhelming, but when you meet someone who gets it and can help, it’s transforming.” –Kimberly & Emily As best friends, Kimberly & Emily have always dreamed of opening a private practice together. Both have worked in mental health for over 15 years and felt the need for more progressive therapy that people can relate to. With that goal in mind, K&E Therapy opened in 2021. Prior to private practice, Kimberly and Emily have worked collaboratively with families and high-risk youth throughout Ventura County SELPA and LVUSD. Throughout their clinical experience, Kimberly and Emily have assisted individuals and families in navigating and getting through depression, trauma, anxiety, addiction, suicidal ideations, self-injurious behaviors, personality disorders, relational issues, eating disorders, and more. Additionally, Kimberly and Emily each have children diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). Until someone has actually lived the journey of having a child with “different needs”, no one can fathom the emotional toll it takes on parents and families. Kimberly and Emily are passionate about helping families connect to resources and services while also assisting families in processing and transforming for the better throughout their journey. Wondering which one of us is the best fit for you or your family? Here is what we clinically recommend: Let's admit, Emily is the cooler of the two. So, the kids love her! We recommend children and individuals in their early 20s should schedule with Emily. Kimberly loves supporting adults of all ages, couples, families, parents in need of parenting skills, and ASD support.
