Hey hey! I’m Amber :) I am originally from Charlotte, NC. I moved here to Atlanta, GA in pursuit of furthering my education in psychology and received my Master’s degree in Clinical Counseling Psychology from Clayton State University. In my free time, I enjoy watching a good movie or binge watching TV series, as well as skating, going to brunch, and traveling. I strongly believe that we should prioritize our mental health, like we do our physical health. I understand how difficult, and sometimes scary it can be, to do that. I understand how sometimes, maybe even most times, your thoughts can take over and you feel like you no longer have control. I understand how certain messages you have received from peers, family, and the world may have you believing you aren’t good enough, you aren’t worthy, or you aren’t valued and appreciated. Life is hard, and it is even harder when you feel inadequate, hopeless, or unprepared. I understand, and I want to help. I offer a safe, nonjudgmental space for you unpack whatever it is you are dealing with. I pride myself on being genuine, warm, and compassionate, and as a cognitive behavioral and person-centered therapist, my goal is to help you restructure any negative and/unhealthy thought patterns and core beliefs you may have, while also structuring our sessions to cater to your specific needs. My approach is collaborative and solution focused. I want us to work together to come up with your personalized goals to help you get back to or become who you want to be.
